Disorder is an intimate insight into the perspectives of New Zealanders who have lived with disordered eating. Miryam Jacobi led the Two One One Three Creatives team and interviewed a diverse range of Kiwis with a broad spectrum of experiences.

The short documentary received over 30,000 views in its first 5 days of online release and has been received with high praise from eating disorder specialists and those who have lived with the mental illness from all over the world.

“I really wanted to bring a human voice to what the emotional experience of living with an eating disorder is like,” director Miryam Jacobi told Radio New Zealand.

The documentary is one of six films as part of Someday Stories 2018, the second series of sustainability-focused short films by emerging young film-makers from Aotearoa New Zealand.

They will be screened by StuffMāori Television On DemandThe Wireless and Coconet.

The initiative is supported by NZ On AirTe Māngai Pāho, the New Zealand Film Commission and The Body Shop.
