2113 Creatives collaborated with Cannes award-winning filmmaker Stephen Kang to produce a short film about a group of young pickpockets who run a tight operation in a train station. Funded by Toi Whakaari, Wellington City Council and Gen Energy. The film was a Semi Finalist at the New York Indie Shorts Awards, a Semi Finalist at Indie Shorts Awards Cannes, a Semi Finalist at Venezia Shorts, and Official Selection at Down Under Berlin Film Festival and Short to the Point ISFF Awards.

DIRECTOR’S BIO:
Born in South Korea, grew up in New Zealand. Kang’s short film Blue – the tale of a fallen TV mascot – won the Grand Prix at 2011 Cannes Critics’ Week and travelled numerous film festivals around the globe. Kang’s micro budget feature Desert debuted at 2010 Busan International Film Festival and later released in local cinemas. Stephen represented New Zealand at the Berlinale Talent Campus and also received the honour of an Asian Producer’s Network Award. Most recently he finished shooting a New Zealand Film Commission funded short film, Breathe.
