Tāne Williams: Only Me

Multi-talented Shortland street star and musician Tāne Williams (NO ONE LIKE YOU) released his latest single, ONLY ME, in November 2021. The indie music video from Auckland director and cinematographer Jack Barry, produced by Miryam Jacobi and 2113 Creatives, will have its festival premiere at the Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival in September 2022.

Shot over four days in Auckland, the video features slick locations, cameos from actors such as Erroll Shand (Filthy Rich, The Luminaries, Underbelly) and striking design.

“This song came from a place of extreme vulnerability, and if I’m being honest – when I first recorded it I had no plans of releasing it. It wasn’t until I played it to a few friends that I realised the topic of wanting to be someone’s one and only was more universal than I thought.” 

“The music video compliments the song brilliantly, attempting to capture the ambience of the music. We decided to stray away from the classic ‘love song’ narrative and give it a more abstract concept, allowing the audience to interpret it according to their own perspective and experiences.”

Tāne has previously released two solo EPs (FOREST, MOON) over the past few years including songs like SHOW, NO ONE LIKE YOU and ANIMAL. He has performed at festivals such as Rhythm and Vines, Sound Splash and Splore and is currently unsigned to any label.
